Beach Clean-up
- Monthly Clean-up: Commitment of $1000 per mont for 3 months to maintain beach gardening; removal of hulls
- Getting rid of hulls and extra masts.
Blocks
- as replacement for tires - Jeremy got a price, looks a bit more expensive than Hobi Club, but likely bigger
- We will try HKHC see if we can get in with them, if not we will use Jeremy's supplier.
- Probably a couple weeks to delivery.
Rack
- waiting for quote, then will notify members to move canoes and stuff off. Will move to new location
- behind the outriggers and in the trees.
- New cement around back shower area.
New Facility Status
- incremental improvements rather than major overhaul was discussed. Maybe build a new
- sail storage area with PVC pipes in a cage; then move extra stuff from red hut into Blue and open more area in Red; consider
- electrical upgrades; fix the awning; add mini tables to stumps; chair and table upgrade; new signs for LBC; new notice board
Optimists:
- boats coming in, expecting to park in same place as existing members boats. May need a rack later.
- Steve is looking into insurance coverage.
Christmas Ball
- general success with 90 people from LBC and HKHC; about $4500 deficit shared between the two clubs;
- it was hard work getting the attendance this year; consider canceling for 2006 and changing to a party with canoeists and DBYC;
Activities with DBYC
- Sokos sail and a joint race day to add to calendar.
Idea
- suggested to do a Hong Kong Challenge like Philippine Hobie Challenge or 4 Peaks
Canoeists
- discussion around how to integrate them into the club; they need to be more active in decision-making
- sending people to the meetings; add paddle information to the Flash and to FH submissions; they are adding another boat to the beach, but the payments are limited; $2000 per outrigger for parking, then canoe or social for others?; agree to set-up a meeting with the officers of paddling club and discuss fees and club integration and facilities needed.
Calendar Discussion:
- Dragonboat Races -- Do we ask paddlers to take-over and set up an A team and B team.
- Spring Dinner -- need a new theme/place -- Disney?
- Sunshine Island -- back on the calendar, get Lloyds to sponsor, get Philippe to cook/organize
- Regatta -- looking at Chung yeung weekend for LBC , National Day for weekend for HAC
- Brian Training -- discuss with Hobie club; likely 1 week and 1 weekend each
- Lloyds -- open day, sunshine island, series
