September 18-19: Commodore's Cup in Cheung Chau
Enjoy the mid-Autumn Festival weekend with a little friendly competition
at this year's Commodore's Cup in Cheung Chau. This forms one leg
of the Hong Kong Catamaran Championships (the others being ABC Opening
Regatta, Allied Pickfords Hobie Asian Championship, our own Discovery
Bay Open Asia Regatta and the Round the Island Race). Format is
being finalized, but current thinking is: sail over on Sunday morning
and 'around-the-cans' races in the afternoon. Monday (holiday) will
be a long-distance race.
For those who want to stay overnight in Cheung Chau, rooms at the
Warwick are extremely tight because of the long-weekend. We have
only managed to reserve a few rooms and they are asking for deposits
by the 30th as a guarantee. If you are interested in reserving a
room, please contact social
@ lantauboatclub.com .
Typhoon Series 4,5,6 Sunday August 28th
Sunday we will race the Typhoon series 4,5,6. We will leave the
beach at 13:00 Sharp. It looks like we will have more luck with
the weather this time...
Stolen Canoe
Since recently one of the canoes disappeared from the rack (stolen?!?)
we urge all members to lock their boats to prevent theft.
The club insurance does not cover canoes.
