LANTAU BOAT CLUB FLASH
December 8th
Upcoming Events
Mickey Series 9,10,11 – Sunday, Dec 11th
This Sunday is the final set of races in the last series of the year.
Before the holidays set in and all your days (and nights) are booked,
come out and enjoy the good winds forecast. Leave the beach at 1:00.
New Years Day – Mulled wine on the beach
It has become a traditional way to cure the traditional hangover.
Come down to the beach and have a cup of wine, hang-out for a chat,
work on the boat, or go for a sail. They say getting on the water
(or in it) will make your head feel much better!

Christmas Ball Photos
Last Saturday’s Annual Christmas Ball at the Ladies Recreation
Club was a great success. Guests from both the LBC and the Hobie
Club enjoyed the great buffet, the free drinks, the slide show from
Fragrant Harbor, the FH Multihull Trophy prize giving, and Magician
David Kwong, before taking to the dance floor. It was a FULL evening!
Check out these links in the next couple days (uploading still
in process) to see the photos from the night: LBC
photos and Hobie Club
photos. If you took photos, please post and share.
Winter Beach Clean-up: Old Masts and Hulls and Racks
As part of the ongoing efforts to improve the club facilities,
the Beachmasters are planning to remove the pile of masts and hulls
that have accumulated over the past couple years. If any of these
items are yours, please claim them and put them with your boat.
If you do not want to keep them, you may donate them to the club
to use as emergency spares. The club will select a few items to
keep and remove the rest. After January 31,
ALL unclaimed items will be thrown away.
The racks that are currently used to store the canoes and unused
masts have become corroded, unstable and dangerous! We have plans
to build new racks next to the Red Hut, but need your help. We need
you to move your canoe, kayak or other items from the racks temporarily.
We expect this work to be completed quickly, but will let you know
the exact dates in the next Flash. Thanks for your cooperation!
We are sure you have noticed that rubbish accumulates around the
boats as it is blown up from the sandy area.
Please take a moment and pick up any rubbish you see as you walk
past it. If we each make a small effort, we will see a huge improvement!
