Once again, I am thrilled to report that we had a very successful Discovery Bay Asian Open Regatta. The organisation was excellent, the competition was keen and numbers were plentiful. With almost 50 boats registered, the Discovery Bay Asian Open Regatta retains its position as Asia's largest multihull sailing event.

Of course, it would not have been possible without some major contributions from a number of dedicated individuals. I would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support, our Regatta Chairman- Joseph Shieh, our Secretary- Michele Felder, our excellent Beachmasters- Wayne & Neels, and our Social Secretary- Anne Ludlow for their especially enthusiastic contributions.

The racing is not yet over, as we are now getting ready for the ‘Around Island Race’, a complete circumnavigation of Hong Kong Island, to take place on 19 November. This is always an exciting race with a large number of boats participating of all types, and some rather unpredictable weather conditions.

To close out a banner year for the LBC, we have planned our annual Christmas party to take place on the 2nd of December at the Siena Club in DB. It is sure to be an occasion to remember, so make every effort to be there!

Until then, see you on the water!
