Boat Maintenance Workshop – Sunday, March 26th, 2:00pm
For all who need to do a bit of work on their boats – washing
off the high-tide scum, replacing toe holds, tightening toe straps,
replacing battens, taping rings, replacing halyards, replacing tie-downs
for typhoon season, etc. – come down to the beach on Sunday
and we’ll share knowledge and get these things done. Better
now than the day of the race!
Dragon Boat Practice, April 2nd
The first training session for the LBC Dragon Boat team will be
on April 2nd. Time to be confirmed.
LBC members interested in paddling should turn up for the first
practice or contact Marianne Kolding at email mhkolding@hotmail.com
or mobile 6078 0648. A special incentive to those who paddle this
year is the addition of a certified sports therapist to give neck
and shoulder massages to the team. Payments to the therapist will
be donated to a charity of our choice.
Beginners Training, April 8th
The next Beginners Training is coming up in early April. This
is one of our most popular courses and usually fills up quickly.
If you know of anyone interested in this course, ask them to send
a note to training@lantauboatclub.com . Cost for the course is HK$300
for LBC members, $500 for non-members, including lunch.
Lloyds TSB Cup, April 16th, Easter Weekend
The second series in the Lloyds TSB Cup will be held Sunday, April
16. Free food and drink for all competitors at the beach on race
day. This is the 2nd of 3 races in the overall Cup for the year.
Sokos Camping with DBYC and ABC, April 29th
DBYC, ABC and LBC are planning on a joint race and overnight camping
trip to the Sokos on April 29th and 30th . Planning on a start of
10:00 (independent starts, over a similar course) with an ETA of
16:00. Sunday racing will be decided later. Saturday night will
include a BBQ and campfire on the beach. Mark your calendars!
