Getting into sailing with the club is not difficult. We are open to all levels of ability, from never having sailed before to experienced racers. The club holds many events throughout the year in which we encourage participation.
Sailing
- Club Open Day- a great chance to get to know the club and its members. We give free sailboat and paddling rides and sponsor a barbeque (BBQ).
- Beginner Sail Training- a perfect opportunity to actually get out on the water and learn the ropes! We sail catamarans which are quick and stable. Check our event calendar for details.
- Club Racing- Usually 2-3 days per month we have club races. These are relatively casual races among club members. If you are keen to hone your skills, come out early on a club race day to see who needs crew. It is the primary way most of us have learned to sail! All events are on our web site.
- Private Sailing Tuition- Once a year, the club brings out a world-class coach to offer private tuition to anyone who wants either learn sailing or improve their skills. Send a note to our Vice-Commodore Training if interested.
- Social Events- Every year the club sponsors numerous social events which enable club members to interact at the beach, on the water, (or at a bar) around Hong Kong. Examples include our sailing/camping events, Sunshine Island family day, Mui Wo lunch sailing/paddling, BBQs and more.
