Wow what a cold streak we have been having! This has already been probably the coldest winter in half a century, and it has yet to show signs of easing up. For thin-skinned sailors like me, this weather has meant an absence of cat sailing. Of course, our paddling contingent has continued training sessions despite the drop in temperatures and rough seas. Perhaps our fair-weather sailing fleet has something to learn?

A great flurry of activities are planned in the near future. We have rescheduled the Chau Chau Challenge to avoid the Easter break. New dates are 12-13 April. The new year brings a wholly new race format which will see all boats of equal type split into two teams: Red & Blue. So for the first time I can recall, we will actually be mixing Hobie Club and LBC members into the same team. It should be a good time for everyone, regardless of boat type or experience.

We have our ever-popular novice sail trainings coming in March and May. Sign up for those early, as we often have more demand than we can accommodate.
