Sunshine Island
CONFIRMED- we will go ahead with the event
This Sunday, 15 June, is our ever-popular trip to Sunshine Island. It
is one of our most popular social events of the year, and is suitable
for everyone, regardless of age or water sport interest. We have a plan
for all participants- sailors, paddlers and those just wishing to hang
out on the island. You may choose one of several ways to get there, and
we will enjoy an afternoon at this secluded beach. We are also planning
to have our traditional race around the island during the afternoon
(for sailors and paddlers alike). Remember there are no facilities
whatsoever on the island so prepare for that as best you can.
How to get there
- If you are sailing or paddling, will meet at the LBC hut on the beach at 11am, leaving soon after
- If
you wish to get a ride on a sailboat, we often have extra spaces.
Please arrive at the beach no later than 11am and we will attempt to
get you on a boat. Otherwise you can take the speedboat. - If you want a ride on the speedboat, please come to the Nim Shue Wan pier before 11:30am

What about the weather?
We are all hoping for good weather, and the current forecast looks OK.
However, we will make a final decision on Saturday evening by 6pm. If
you are unsure, you may check the LBC web site anytime on Saturday after 6pm where we will post an update on the home page.
2 Volunteers needed
We need 2 able-bodied people to come to NimShue Wan Pier by 11am to
help load the speedboat and unload it at Sunshine Island. We will need
similar help coming back around 3:30pm.
Tram Party
Saturday 28 June, 6:30pm.
We will arrange a Tram tour of Hong Kong Island, to be followed by a
social gathering at a restaurant/bar to be determined close to the Tram
line.
This event will be limited to roughly 28-30
participants. Because of the post-Tram arrangements, this event will be
limited to adults only with priority to LBC members.
More information on the Tram party will be sent out next week.
