Update on Boat Repairs
I have spoken with a repair company who sent out a person on Monday this week. He has agreed to start working on a few boats on this coming Monday morning. He is looking them over, then giving an estimate and doing the work. The more boats we have the more discount we get.
If you are interested in getting your boat repaired, the likely cost will be between HK$2000-5000, depending on the condition. Priority will be based on who plans to sail in our regatta (Oct 25-26) and is signed up and paid. Next priority is to those who have been helping out with all of the typhoon prep and cleanup.
If you want repairs, please send:
- Your Name
- Boat type and Sail #
- Detailed description of the repairs to be done
- Maximum you are willing to spend on your repairs

This will help determine if your boat is a candidate for getting repairs. If you wish to find someone yourself, you can always contact the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club who have a repair service, but you will likely need to bring your boat to them in Causeway Bay. http://www.rhkyc.org.hk/default.aspx?c=36

- Incident Report prepared by you
- Colour Photos
- Repair Quotations
- ID Card Copy of the boat owner
Since some people will need new hulls, and we will try and coordinate an order, otherwise shipping will be very costly individually.
Asian Open Regatta
Our annual event will take place on 25-26 October. The pre-regatta party will be on the 23rd (Thursday) at the all new Pier 7 Cafe just above Star Ferry in Central. We are now accepting applications! This is our biggest event, and one we are very proud of, as Asia’s largest multihull racing event. Sign up online here. We also need volunteers.
