Racing opportunity this Saturday! – Drag Racing
We have decided to have another event with the DB Yacht Club! The special ‘Drag Race’ format is quite simply a race to the top (windward) mark. These races are designed to work on starts and boat speed, while having a lot of fun with our sailing neighbours. We hope to get in around 5 races, as the course is short. Come out and join in the fun!
Meet on the beach at 10:30am this Saturday. Race briefing at 11:30 and we are off! We need to get to the start, which may take a while. First start will be 1pm. We will start 5 mins behind the bigger (DBYC) boats and see how many we can (safely) pass!
Excellent chance for some good race practice!
Memberships
Don’t forget, your membership fees are now due. Unlike past years, we will not be tolerating people who leave their boats and other items on the beach without paying. The boats will be removed to make room for new enthusiastic members. Joining is easier than ever with our new online form.
One more reminder: those who let their memberships slip, will have to repay the joining fee if they wish to rejoin the club.
Awah
On a separate note, Awah is currently unable to provide
boat support during the week due to ill health. If you find yourself in
need of assistance please make sure you have the number of the marine
police (listed on the website).
Race Report Posted
As promised, we are now posting race reports for both Club races and
Hong Kong-based regattas. For the latest results, you can always go to
our all-new ‘Race Results’ section, which you can access from the main
menu. We hope to get all sailing and paddling results posted here.
