Item 1: Commodore’s Address
The Commodore welcomed the committee members to the meeting.
Item 2: Previous Meeting’s Minutes
The previous meeting’s minutes were read and it was agreed that they were an accurate record of the meeting. There are no outstanding action items.
Item 3: Kayaks
The identification of the owners of the kayaks is still proceeding. The majority have now had their owners traces and it turns out that many are owned by boat owners who have not told the club about them. Some of these are on the rack when they should be stored under the owner’s boats. The Commodore stated he would like to see the kayaks stored on the ground on the racks instead. The secretary is to inform boats owners with kayaks that they are to be placed under boats and options for increasing the rack storage should be explored.
Action: Secretary and Beachmaster
Item 4: LIOCC Memberships
The Commodore reitereated that LIOCC members must be LBC members as well. The LIOCC Secretary mentioned that all LIOCC members have now joined and there were few new fees to pay to the Treasurer.
Item 5: Training Plans
May 23rd is the first training day of the year. Already, and without advertising
thirteen people had signed up. For this, at least seven boats would be needed. So far, four have volunteered. The next flash should have a request for club members to help. The next training day will be in July after the club open day. The possibility of holding a more advanced course with race training should be considered.
Also, Brian Phipps has been booked to come to Hong Kong between the HKHC and LBC regattas. Bookings are already being taken and at least one and a half days training is already taken. The remainder of available training slots need to be put on the website. The cost of bringing Brian to Hong Kong will be shared between LBC and HKHC.

Item 6: Asian Open Regatta.
Air Canada will provide $30,000 plus 4 tickets. Re-dev properties have offered $5,000 and a prize. Sunbrella will be approached by the Beach-master, also with the view to sponsoring boat covers with the Sunbrella logo. Other sponsors have been contacted. The trophies have been ordered at a price much lower than last years. The Regatta sub-committee will formed from LBC Officers connected with the event.
Item 7: Any Other Business
Dragonboat. The entry fees for this year’s dragonboat racing will be covered by the club. Two teams will enter the Discovery Bay and Silvermine Bay events. The LIOCC secretary will provide the club treasurer with receipts.
Action: LIOCC Sec.
Beach Matters. The secretary reported he had received complaints from some of the residents of the houses on the beachfront that halyards banging on masts are causing an annoyance. The secretary will make sure that Club members are asked to ensure all halyards are made tight on de-rigging.
The OC6s had been placed on tyres which is not allowed by agreement with the HKRI management. The Beach-master has removed the tyres. More foam blocks will be ordered with the club paying to replace those lost during Typhoon Hagupit.
The Beach-master will put a lock on one of the fridges for the Club stock. Only Club committee members will have keys. The other fridge will be left unsecured for Club member’s use.

Paddle Vs Sail.: An event involving members trying both disciplines was proposed. The format would be for mixed crew swapping at a convenient point such as Silvermine Bay.
Action: Racing and LIOCC Rep.
Racing Flags. The Racing Officer mentioned that the flags we use are small and not a complete set. He wanted club members to get used to the correct flags. The purchase of new flags was approved.
