Racing on Sunday
At the moment it’s looking like the second day
of the spring series will be going ahead as the forecast is for Force 3
winds. You can call Gabriel on 9380 6809 Saturday evening before 9pm
for an update or Sunday morning from 8am onwards. However, the final
decision will be made on the day as we all know how fickle the wind can
be in Hong Kong!
Please note that if we know in advance that racing will be postponed or
cancelled we will put the notice on the website the evening before. If
it is postponed or cancelled on the day verbal notice will be given on
the beach at 10am.
With members coming from all over Hong Kong we do understand this is an
issue so, as a rough guide for the future, the following forecast on
the HK Observatory website the day before racing will mean:
Light winds Force 2
Unlikely that there will be a race but the Race Officer (RO) will be there to confirm by 10amForce 2 to 3
Possible that racing will go ahead and worth turning up for but final decision on the dayForce 3
Racing will go ahead but the RO reserves the right to cancel if the forecast is wrongAnything above Force 3
There will be racing providing the forecast is correct
