Racing Sunday 7th March
Thanks to all those who turned up on Sunday for the practice race the weekend prior to the Cheung Chau Challenge. The conditions were good and the results can be found on the club website www.lantauboatclub.com
The Cheung Chau Challenge
We need you this weekend! 13th and 14th of March is the annual race against the Hong Kong Hobie Club. This is always one of the most social and fun racing events of the year! Meet up on Saturday morning at the beach at 9am for all those sailing across. YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR INTEREST FIRST. DO NOT JUST SHOW UP AT BEACH!
The forecast for our annual competition with the Hong Kong Hobie Club is Easterlies at force 4, so it promises to be good. For those of you who still need to book accommodation, call the Warwick Hotel on 2981 0081 and mention you are with the Lantau Boat Club/Hong Kong Hobie Club to book at the discount rate. All details are on the web site.
2010 Membership Renewals
The renewals are coming in fast, but there are still many more members still to renew. The deadline for all memberships is 31st March, after which a new joining fee has to be paid as you have deemed to have left the club if not renewing by then. But if you are a boat owner, the deadline is 14th March because we have to provide the list of boats to the insurers by 15th March to ensure continuous coverage. After this date a $500 insurance administration fee will have to be paid and passed on to the boat owner concerned. To renew, go to the club website www.lantauboatclub.com and click on the link. Don’t delay!
Payment can be made by Internet transfer or cheque only (ATM payments cannot be tracked). However, if you prefer, payment by cash can be made. Simon Ludlow will be on the beach at 9am on Saturday 13th for those attending the Cheung Chau Challenge and Anne Ludlow will be outside Uncle Russ Coffee on Sunday 14th between 2pm and 4pm to collect fees.
