Extraordinary General Meeting.
Don’t forget there is a general Meeting to be held tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd) at 8pm at the Multi Purpose Hall in the DB management offices tomorrow (behind Fusion) where we will take a vote to decide if we want the Lantau Island Rowing Club to join us. There is plenty of information on the Club website in the documents section (look in member’s info) along with the agenda and a Proxy Voting form. Also, a debate has started on the Discussions page. Proxy voting forms need to have been received by the Secretary prior to the commencement of the meeting. The Club will stand a round of drinks after the meeting which should not take long.
Around the Island Race.
Congratulations to all those who took part for finishing. This year’s event had less wind than the last, which meant slower but safer sailing.
Navigation.
Remember that the rocks on the south side of the entrance to Tai Pak bay extend some way out into the bay and they can just be covered by water at high tide. Recently, one member forgot this. Luckily the damage was superficial and didn’t lead to an emergency.
Sky International.
Sky has moved to the 7F in the Henan Building, 90 Jaffe Road in Wanchai. The entrance is right opposite Joe banana’s – I’m sure that some of you will know where that is!
Hobie Club Pirate Party.
This Saturday, the 27thof November at the Hong Kong Golf Club, Deepwater Bay. We have been invited. Tickets are $308 per person. Contact hobie@hobie.com.hk asap as the numbers have to be given to the Golf Club by the 23rd.
LBC Christmas Ball.
It’s at the Airport World Trade Centre, starts at 7pm and costs $800 per person. It’s a black tie event and includes a buffet, a band and an open bar and promises to be a great event. Sign up with social@lantauboatclub.com
