It was a cold and sunny morning, and all on the beach.
Nothing was stirring, no wind for a reach.
Then out of the blue, came a vision in red,
With Awah the reindeer, and Santa he led.
Sunday, Dec 11, saw the club hold its Santa-on-the-Beach Party. A BBQ was prepared with hot mulled wine to chase the chills away and families brought a fiesta of festive food from their respective nations. A good mix from all three sections of the Club were present.

Santa managed to take time off his hectic schedule to wave down Awah who dropped Mr Claus on the beach to the delight of the many young children who were cheering the occasion. Amazingly, Santa had just the perfect present to give to the sons and daughters of the members. The Beachmaster was disappointed not to sit on Santa'a knee and get a present but, James, only good boys and girls get presents.

The beach was then turned in to a playground by the kids and there was cricket and football played and sand castle building.
Much mulled wine was swilled and the Social Secretary was caught with a third slice of Mrs Merz's chocolate, cherry and cream cake extravaganza; his pitiful excuse was that there is almost a year to the next LBC regatta and that might be enough time to work off all that yumminess.

Many thanks to all who turned up and brought goodies, Mr S Claus himself, Awah the reindeer, James the Elf, Don the barman and all the committee who helped put this together.
The Committee wishes all our members a wonderful Christmas / Hannukkah / Winter Solstice / Pancha Ganapati / Eid, Kwanzaa / Saturnalia / Winterval / Hogmanay and a very happy and successful 2012.
