Congratulations to Liam Fitzpatrick and David Coudert, the LIRC mens' double scull team, for winning the 2012 Sail/Paddle/Row Challenge, held on January 2, 2012. Liam and David defeated the first sailing boat by three minutes. Next were Christoph and Nelson on their Hobie Tiger, followed by Steve and Jade on their Nacra, slightly handicapped by the large plastic bag they dragged through most of the course. The paddlers in the OC6 were not far behind, as the field were all relatively close to each other. The fun and friendly race of nearly 10 km was followed by mince pies and mulled wine on the beach. As Tim Osborne of the OC6 comments, "A fun event that I can recommend if you are in town over New Year!"
