Cheung Chau Challenge

When: Back to Calendar » March 3, 2012 @ 9:00 am – March 4, 2012 @ 3:00 pm

The annual Cheung Chau Challenge is scheduled for March 3–4, 2012. Join us as LBC boats meet our mates and rivals from Hong Kong Hobie Club in the neutral waters of Cheung Chau, halfway between the two clubs' beaches.

The Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are available here. Other information:

  • We will leave the beach Saturday morning (exact time to be announced later) in time to start sailing in Cheung Chau after lunchtime. Awah will be taking our overnight bags to Cheung Chau. But please be considerate with the amount of stuff you bring, we hope to be quite a big group. There will be racing Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, so we will be back late Sunday afternoon.
  • Our base will be the Windsurf Café on Cheung Chau beach where we will meet the Hobie club on Saturday, have the race briefing by our expert race officer Bo Fussing and meet again for the Seafood dinner.
  • Sailors can stay at the Warwick Hotel, which is right at the beach (www.warwickhotel.com.hk). Participants book rooms themselves. There is a special rate available (940 HKD for a twin room incl. breakfast) if you mention that you are from LBC/Hobie club.
  • There is no entry fee for the regatta, but participants will be responsible for their own accommodation and food (during racing as well as for the dinner, where the cost will be split amongst participants).
